Playgroup runs on a Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday morning, 8.30am - 11.30am.

On the first day we would expect you to stay for all or part of the session and you are welcome to stay for as many sessions afterwards until your child has settled. It is reassuring for them to know you are there while they adapt to the new routines.

Clothing should be suitable for playing in - nothing too special - and appropriate outdoor clothing should be provided (coats and wellies in winter, sun-hats and sun-screen in summer). We don't want to restrict the children's play and we certainly don't want to ruin their best clothes or shoes. A change of clothing is advisable in case of accidents and nappies/wipes should also be provided.

PLAYGROUP

You and your child

When your child is offered a place at playgroup, it is important that the Information for Playleaders form is completed and handed in. Playleaders are required to keep records about each child but all information is confidential and will not be discussed with anyone else without your permission. The playleaders will build up a profile on each child with photos and pictures and you are welcome to contribute to this at any time. The profile will be passed on to you when your child leaves.

The only exception to the confidentiality of records is when there are Child Protection concerns because staff are required by law to pass on information to the Child Protection Team. For further information on this and other procedures for the children's safety and wellbeing, please read the playgroup policies in the red folder on the shelf.

Illness

If your child is ill they should not attend the playgroup. If they become unwell during a session we will contact you to take them home. If your child has had symptoms of vomiting/diarrhoea they should not return to playgroup until 48 hours after the symptoms have stopped. Advice on incubation period for other illnesses is available in playgroup. Parents will be informed if any infectious illness has been reported eg chickenpox, conjunctivitis, headlice etc

Please can you let us know in advance if your child will not be attending a session.

FEES

We try to keep fees as low as possible so that no child is excluded because of cost. We get no regular financial subsidy from the government so, unlike school nurseries, we need to charge fees that are used to pay wages, replacement toys, art materials and various other commitments.

Weekly fees currently stand at £22.50 for x3 3hr sessions or £15 for x3 2hr sessions..  Fees can be paid weekly, monthly or on occasion termly - cheques are payable to Coldstream Playgroup. A subscription fee is charged each term (3 times per year) to cover room hire and insurance and this will remain at £5.00 per family.
